Winter swimming
Swimming in open water when it is cold — the most demanding form of cold training, only ever in a group.
Esecuzione
- Only enter the water at known, supervised or familiar spots — never alone.
- Wade in slowly, wet your hands and neck, and get through the first minute with calm breathing.
- Only start swimming once your breathing has settled; head above water, parallel to the shore.
- Stay close to the exit and keep your time in the water short — just a few minutes at first.
- Get out immediately once your hands get clumsy, shivering starts or your thinking slows down.
- Dry off right away, put on warm layers and a hat, have a warm drink, move gently.
Consigli
- Neoprene gloves and socks plus a bright swim cap make starting out easier and keep you visible.
- In Movepath, log your time in the water, not your time on the shore.
